Germany: Postdoc Position in Biochemistry and Pathobiochemistry

Postdoc Position/Research Associate Position <Wuerzburg>

A postdoctoral research scholar position will be available in the Department of Clinical Biochemistry and Pathobiochemistry at the University of Wuerzburg, Germany and the LCSB Luxembourg.

Area:

Study of mechanisms leading to metabolic diseases, atherosclerosis, inflammation, and cancer. This work will rely on animal studies of disease pathogenesis and pathophysiology to dissect complex genotype-phenotype associations. An additional effort will consist in implementing systematic methodologies and techniques, including analysis of biological networks . There will be a strategic and logistic research collaboration with the newly established Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine .

Profile:
PhD, MD or Master in Biology, Medicine or a related discipline.
Background in basic and mouse models of disease or previous experience in a specific disease desired.
Flexibility, unconventional thinking and the willingness to learn new methods and problem solution skills.
Additional research background in mathematics would be a plus.

Offer:
The successful applicant will work independently under supervision by the PI and to take responsibility for day to day management of the project including data recording, statistical analysis and interpretation, presentations at national meetings, and publication. The successful applicant will benefit from a collaborative and interdisciplinary attempt to build on the framework for the future of biomedical research and clinical medicine.
