Experienced Researcher in the field of Microbiology / Infection Biology / Cellular Microbiology for 12 months .
An EU-supported post-doctoral position is now available to study interactions between the human pathogenic fungus Candida albicans and host cells using post-genomic approaches. In particular, our laboratory investigates how C. albicans responds to host defences during disease establishment and progression. This research is conducted using post-genomics, molecular and cellular approaches in different contexts that are relevant to the interaction of C. albicans with the host, e.g., infection models such as epithelial cell cultures, macrophages or neutrophils. An individual with experience in cellular microbiology, infection biology, fungal molecular biology, or microbial pathogenicity is preferred. The project will be part of the
FINSysB Marie Curie Research Training Network
which is dedicated to the 'Pathogenomics and systems biology of fungal infections – an integrative approach' . An internationally competitive income will be provided.
The successful candidate will be hosted at the Department of Microbial Pathogenicity Mechanisms at the HKI. The group will be embedded in the outstanding scientific environment of the Beutenberg Campus providing state-of-art research facilities and a highly integrative network of life science groups.
