Norway : PhD position at the Department of Computer and Information Science under the project


A PhD research fellowship is offered in the Department of Computer and Information Science (IDI), Faculty of Information Technology, Mathematics and Electrical Engineering (IME), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)..

The PhD position is part of the project "Global Health eInfrastructures, GHeI" financed by the Verdikt programme within the Norwegian Research Council (NFR). The project is a cooperation between the Department of Computer and Information science (IDI), Norwegian Univ. of Science and Technology (NTNU) and the Department of informatics (IFI), Univ. of Oslo.

The GHeI project studies the development, diffusion and use of comprehensive health information systems in several countries in Africa and Asia. The emphasis in GHeI is on challenges tied to the integration of health information systems across geographical, institutional and clinical boundaries. Theoretically the project is based on a socio-technical understanding of the interplay between ICT and organization. Empirically the project will operate in India or Tanzania (seehttp://www.idi.ntnu.no/~ericm/GHeI.pdf ). Methodologically the project will adopt an interpretative approach supplemented with action research.
