W3 Professor of Embedded Systems in Information Engineering
The successful candidate will have an outstanding scientific reputation in the field of embedded systems and several years of successful industry-related or industry-relevant research and development experience.
The future post holder's scientific work will focus on one or more of the key research areas
- computer and processor architecture
- real-time systems
- hardware/software codesign and design automation
with applications in the areas of automation engineering, vehicular technology, telecommunications or other technical fields.
International visibility through publications and projects, above-average acquisition of third-party funding and proof of particular aptitude for academic teaching are expected.
Teaching responsibilities include compulsory lectures on computer architecture and embedded processors. The post holder should be willing to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration in teaching and research with partners within and outside the faculty. Appropriate participation in the self-governing tasks of the university is expected.
The conditions of employment, including a post-doctoral lecture qualification or equivalent academic achievement, derive from § 46 of the North-Rhine Westphalia Higher Education Act (Hochschulgesetz des Landes NRW).
