Fully Funded MS/PhD opportunities, KSA

Fully Funded MS/PhD opportunities, KFUPM, Saudia Arabia

KFUPM Saudi Arabia, is sending a team to Pakistan in April to conduct interviews of students/graduates interested in pursuing graduate studies leading to MS/Phd in different disciplines of engineering and basic sciences. Opportunities are available to get full funding for the studies.

General Description

KFUPM has recently established several Research Centers of Excellence in different areas. In addition, generous research funding is available from various governmental or semi-government organizations (including Aramco, Sabic, STC etc.). Therefore, KFUPM is looking for graduate students with full support leading to ph.d in different fields of engineering and basic sciences. Here I would like to mention that the Mechanical Engineering Department at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Mechanical Engineering Department at KFUPM has recently started a seven year joint collaboration in research and educational programs. The collaboration agreement is composed of two main components: research programs and education. Faculty and students involved in this collaboration, from both institutions, will conduct research and develop academic programs through projects in areas of strategic importance to Saudi Arabia and to disseminate knowledge, and transfer technologies for tackling problems associated with the progress of knowledge based economy.

Funding Details Full support for ph.d students includes a monthly stipend of SR. 2,500 plus housing, medical, full tuition fees, book, tickets, one-month annual paid leave and others as per university rule. Ph.d. students get family status and, depending upon availability, on campus fully furnished two-room housing with all utilities paid or housing allowance. Students will be allowed, rather encouraged, to work on internally and /or externally funded research projects. The compensations from these projects will be in addition to the salary and all income in Saudi Arabia are still tax free. Selected students will be required to join KFUPM from Fall 2009 (September 2009).Students having B.S. degree and planning for graduate studies leading to ph.d are also encouraged to apply for MS programs at KFUPM. Masters students get an stipend of SR. 1,000/month and single accommodation. All other benefits are same as ph.d students.
