Applicants are invited to apply for a research assistant position within the Biomechanics Section of the Bone and Joint Center Research Laboratories at Henry Ford Hospital. The candidate will be part of a collaborative group of investigators with expertise in biomechanics, computational mechanics, motion analysis, animal models, anatomy, cell biology, histology, biochemistry and molecular biology. Primary job requirements include planning and performing various experiments which may use animal or cadaver models, assisting with the analysis and interpretation of the data, assisting in the preparation of scientific reports and maintaining of
laboratory equipment.
The candidate will be expected to learn laboratory methods in areas other than his/her area of training. The position is available immediately. Qualifications:
The positions require a BS or MS degree in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Candidates with non-engineering background but with experience at the tissue mechanics/biology interface will be considered.
